About FlyNamibia (formerly Westair Aviation)

FlyNamibia – Your Gateway to Southern Africa FlyNamibia, formerly known as Westair Aviation, is a privately owned airline based in Windhoek, Namibia. Established in 1967, Westair Aviation began as an aircraft maintenance facility and has since evolved into the country's leading provider of scheduled passenger services under the FlyNamibia brand. A Proud Namibian Legacy In June 2019, Westair Aviation commenced scheduled domestic flights, marking a significant milestone as Namibia's first privately owned scheduled passenger airline. The airline rebranded to FlyNamibia in November 2021 to better reflect its role as a trusted Namibian carrier. Expanding Horizons FlyNamibia operates a fleet of Embraer ERJ-145 aircraft, offering comfortable seating for 50 passengers. The airline serves various domestic destinations, including Windhoek, Ondangwa, Rundu, and Katima Mulilo. In addition to domestic routes, FlyNamibia has expanded its network to regional destinations. Notably, in October 2019, the airline launched its first international scheduled flight from Windhoek to Cape Town, making it the first privately owned Namibian carrier to operate international services. Partnership with Airlink In September 2022, FlyNamibia entered into a partnership with South Africa's Airlink, with Airlink acquiring a 40% equity stake in the airline. This collaboration has enabled FlyNamibia to enhance its regional connectivity and expand its route network. Looking Ahead FlyNamibia remains committed to providing reliable and efficient air travel services, contributing to the growth of Namibia's aviation industry and tourism sector. With ongoing efforts to expand its fleet and route network, the airline is poised to continue its legacy of excellence in Namibian aviation.
