About Midex Airlines
Midex Airlines: A Legacy in Middle Eastern Cargo Aviation
Established in 2007 and based in the United Arab Emirates, Midex Airlines was a dedicated cargo carrier that made significant strides in the Middle Eastern air freight industry. Operating primarily from Sharjah International Airport, Midex Airlines specialized in ad-hoc and chartered cargo services, catering to destinations across the Middle East, Asia, Europe, and Africa.
Fleet and Operations
At its peak, Midex Airlines boasted a fleet comprising:
Airbus A300B4-203F: A versatile freighter capable of carrying substantial cargo loads.
Boeing 747-228F: A heavy-lift aircraft known for its capacity to transport large and oversized cargo.
These aircraft facilitated the airline's operations to various destinations, including Kabul, Karachi, Yekaterinburg, and Frankfurt Hahn. However, by June 2012, the airline's operations were primarily limited to Kabul.
Challenges and Cease of Operations
Despite its initial success, Midex Airlines faced challenges that led to the cessation of its operations. Scheduled cargo services were suspended in April 2009 due to a downturn in demand. The airline continued to offer charter services but ultimately ceased all operations in August 2015.
Legacy
Midex Airlines played a pivotal role in the development of the Middle Eastern cargo aviation sector. Its commitment to timely and reliable services earned it recognition and respect within the industry. Although the airline is no longer operational, its legacy continues to influence the region's air freight landscape.
