About Parcelair
Parcelair: New Zealand’s Premier Overnight Air Freight Carrier
Parcelair is a New Zealand-based cargo airline specializing in overnight freight services. Established on June 25, 2015, as a joint venture between Airwork Holdings and Fieldair Holdings, Parcelair operates a fleet of Boeing 737-400 freighters to meet the growing demand for express parcel delivery across the country.
Fleet & Operations
Parcelair operates a fleet of four Boeing 737-400 freighters, leased from Airwork Holdings. These aircraft are capable of carrying approximately 17,000 kg of freight per flight, significantly increasing capacity compared to the previous Convair CV580s. The airline's operations are primarily focused on overnight services between Auckland, Christchurch, and Palmerston North. Additionally, Parcelair occasionally conducts daytime charter flights to other destinations within New Zealand.
Services & Partnerships
Parcelair's primary contract is with the courier division of the Freightways Group and New Zealand Post. The airline's services are integral to the overnight delivery network, ensuring timely and reliable transportation of parcels across the North and South Islands. By consolidating operations and reducing the number of required flights, Parcelair has enhanced efficiency and sustainability in New Zealand's air freight sector.
Sustainability Initiatives
In response to the growing environmental concerns, Parcelair has taken significant steps to reduce its carbon footprint. The transition from the older Convair fleet to the more modern Boeing 737-400 freighters has resulted in fewer flights required to transport the same volume of freight. This consolidation has led to reduced emissions per item of freight carried, aligning with New Zealand's broader sustainability goals.
Parcelair continues to play a vital role in New Zealand's logistics infrastructure, providing efficient and sustainable air freight solutions to meet the demands of the modern economy.
