SalamAir: Soaring High as Oman's Leading Low-Cost Airline
SalamAir, established in 2016 and commencing operations in January 2017, is Oman's first low-cost airline. Headquartered at Muscat International Airport, the airline was founded by the Muscat National Development and Investment Company (ASAAS), a partnership between the Oman Investment Authority, Muscat Municipality, and various pension funds .
Fleet and Services
As of December 2024, SalamAir operates a modern fleet comprising:

1 Airbus A321-200P2F for cargo operations
These aircraft are configured to offer passengers comfort and efficiency, with the A320neo seating 180 passengers and the A321neo accommodating 212 passengers .

SalamAir serves over 45 destinations across 18 countries, including:
India: Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Lucknow, Calicut, Bangalore, Thiruvananthapuram, and Kozhikode
Pakistan: Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad, Multan, Peshawar, and Sialkot
Saudi Arabia: Riyadh, Jeddah, Dammam, and Medina
UAE: Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and Fujairah
Other destinations: Dhaka (Bangladesh), Kathmandu (Nepal), Colombo (Sri Lanka), Cairo (Egypt), Istanbul (Turkey), and Phuket (Thailand) .
Expansion Plans
In line with Oman's Vision 2040, SalamAir plans to expand its fleet to 25 aircraft by 2028 and aims to carry 8.5 million passengers annually. The airline is also introducing new routes, including destinations in East Africa, to further enhance its network .
