Fleet Overview As of 2025, Western Global Airlines operates a fleet of 19 wide-body freighter aircraft: All aircraft are equipped with General Electric CF6-80C2 engines, known for their reliability and fuel efficiency. The fleet's composition allows WGA to offer flexible and cost-effective cargo solutions, with the MD-11F and 747-400F providing payload capacities ranging from 60 to 110 metric tonnes. Global Operations WGA's main hub is located at Southwest Florida International Airport in Fort Myers, Florida. Maintenance and Infrastructure In July 2018, WGA established a 160,000-square-foot aircraft maintenance facility in Shreveport, Louisiana. This facility is capable of housing three wide-body aircraft simultaneously, enhancing the airline's in-house maintenance capabilities and operational efficiency. Financial Restructuring On August 7, 2023, Western Global Airlines filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection. The company successfully exited bankruptcy proceedings in December 2023, having reduced its debt to less than $100 million.
