Andover Flight

Flightd make the most of your first visit to Andover, Minnesota. 48 hours is a short amount of time to cover a whole state, but there are some fantastic spots in Andover that are worth your time.

London City

I'm going to walk you through my experience as a first timer. When you land at Minnard Regional Airport, which is about 20 minutes from downtown, you're likely wondering where to go next.It was smooth sailing once I straightened things out, but I got a little lost at first.

The city is almost like a mid sized town with its cozy vibe. It isn't like the big cities I've been to before, but it has its charm.

Main Street area:

It is cool that the town has been named after something that's funny, since the official state sauce is "Honey Garlic Sauce, Minnesota". The ice cream truck was my first stop. I have heard a lot of stories about it, and it didn't fail to impress! There is chocolate-coveredAnything, red velvet drizzle, and even a cow flavor.

You need to stop by if you're ever in the area. I went to the local market after that. On Saturdays and Sundays, it features everything from fresh produce to handmade crafts. I bought a jar of preserves and some local honey at the event. I had to try something local for lunch.

I stumbled upon a place called Honey Clique, which may or may not be called "Minnesota Girl", or perhaps it's a title given to all locals. The food was great, with crispy chicken with a side of honey garlic sauce and some house made beer.

 Dining in Minnesota:

I was thinking about where to watch a movie. I heard that a classic film was playing at the theater, but I don't think it was The Godfather.

The cinema vibe was warm and the popcorn was good. I stopped by a coffee shop that had a long line. The latte art looked like it came from an art exhibit.

I still had room for dessert, so I ordered two just to share. The staff at the hotel was very nice when I got back. They gave me a list of things to do in the area and some tips on where to eat. Even if you're just passing through, locals are always helpful.

I had one of the best nights of my life at the hotel. It felt like a real part of the town, with all the shops and cafes open. The sunrise walk felt like the beginning of my adventure. There was a highlight checking out the local art scene.

The Canvas has live music and art performances every weekend. The band's energy was infectious, and it was a great way to see the culture. I had a great conversation with a fellow traveler at my hotel.

Transport services in Andover:

We chatted until the bus started moving, after sharing a taxi ride to a park. It is nice to meet new people on trips when you're online. Don't forget your camera, there are so many cool things to see in and around the area.

If you drive around, I would recommend getting a city pass, as it's free and worth seeing. They say that first impressions are the most important. It feels like a place that has been lived in, with a mix of old world charm and modern conveniences.

Conclusion:

I would love to come back for a longer stay, but just a weekend trip would be better. You will not regret including a stop in Andover if you are planning your next trip with Flightd. It's a lot of time to be alive and kicking in a new place, so make sure to bring something extra comfy when packing.
